This river is 18 miles long and a tributary of the Blackstone River. The headwaters in Sutton and Douglas at Manchung Pond flow east thru a series of ponds and joins the Blackstone River in Uxbridge. This river got its name from a hunter named Mumford who drowned in this river in the 17th century. This region was the largest manufacturer of textile machines in the world, back in the day.
