A veiled Berber Siwan woman walks by the fortress Shali of Siwa Oasis. The islamic dress code of Siwa rules women over 15 years old, to be veiled in public. Siwan women wear a distinctive gray patterned shawl draped over their heads, with a long piece of black cloth hanging right in front of the face.
