Channel-leaf featherbush (Aulax cancellata) seed head. The Channel-leaf featherbush is a South African fynbos evergreen shrub of the family Proteaceae. It is has male and female flowers on separate plants. In spring and summer the female plants produce flowerheads that develop into seed cones. Seeds are released after wildfire, and dispersed by wind.
