His father wasGeorge A., was also born in the same townshii) in1843, and the grandlather. Nelson, was a native ofNew York, w|jo came to Clinton County at anearly day, soon after tiie migration to that countyof his brother, Hiram Benedict, who gave hisname to what is known as the Benedict Benedict died about 1880 at the age ofthirty-seven years. His wife, who bore the nameof Laura Eldred, was born in Ohio, and is now thewife of George , a wealthy stock-dealer ofMaple Rapids, Mich.
