Nearwhere I am writing is Lucass Hospital at Wokingham,founded by Henry Lucas in 1663, which he placed in thecharge of the company. It is a beautiful Carolian housewith a central portion and two wings, graceful and pleas-ing in every detail. The chapel is situated in one wingand the masters house in the other, and there are sets ofrooms for twelve poor men chosen from the parishes inthe neighbourhood. The Fishmongers have the manage-ment of three important hospitals.
