Itreaches a length of 7 McKays Sunfish Eupomotis curyorus (McKay) This sunfish is known only from southern Michigan, northernOhio and northern Indiana. It is, preferably, an inhabitant of 351 Shell Cracker small lakes, but it has been found also in sluggish streams. InLost Lake at Maxinkuckee, Indiana, it is abundant in associationwith the bluegill. It reaches a length of 8 inches, but is oflittle value as a food or game-fish. It rarely takes the hook andis not sought by even the boy angler. It is, however, a veryinteresting and handsome fish. Colour, in spirits, mottled olive, yellowish below; top ofhead blackish; membranes of vertical fins dusky; ventrals duskywith lighter margins; pectorals pale.
