Proboscis fully developed ; palpi with the 2nd joint obliquely upturned and fringed with hair in front, the 3rd long, porrect, and somewhat dilated at extremity ; irons smooth ; anteuniE of male strongly ciliated ; head and thorax clothed with hair only and without distinct crests ; tibi« moderately hairy ; abdomen with dorsal crest at base. Fore wing with the termen crenulate and obliquely curved; veins 3 and 5 from near angle of cell; 6 from upper angle ; 9 from 10 anastomosing with 8 to form the areole ; 11 from cell. Hind wing with veins 3, 4 from angle of cell; 5 obsolescent from middle of discocellulars; 6, 7 from upper angle ; 8 anastomosing witii the cell near base only. 1771. Clavipalpula aurariae.
