A flintlock blunderbuss with a Damascus barrel, German, circa 1730. Captured Ottoman two-stage barrel of beautifully patterned twisted Damascus, octagonal breech section becoming round with a wide funnel-shaped muzzle. Oriental peep sight at the barrel root. Massive, slightly ridged flintlock. The upper cock jaw is missing. Lightly carved walnut full stock with richly sculpted brass furniture, displaying cartouches, cherubs, and grotesque masks.
