But a travel-er to be success-ful must also beable to sellgoods, and thisH. G. Collamorecan do as well asthe best of country mer-*J chant who hasknown him for a number of years paid thistribute to him the other day in my hearing :He is a most persistent fellow. He willstick to a prospective buyer like a leach ;but judiciously so, mind you. He doesntsay much, but what he says is to the is a very fine fellow. I am speakingfrom personal experience. His fellow-travelers recognize his abilityas well as his customers. For a number ofyears he has been a director of the WesternOntario Commercial Travelers Association, and last year filled the office of second vice-president of that SANDERSON PEARCY AND OUT. The paint and oil warehouse of Sander-son Pearcy & Co., 61 to 65 Adelaide streetwest, Toronto, was badly gutted by fire onTuesday morning. The fire apparently started in the south-west corner of the second storey, and be-fore it was extinguished had crept into everynook and corner of the building, in spite ofthe fact that a general alarm was sounded, and all the fire sections in the city werepresent. The cause of the fire is a mystery. Theonly fire in the building was in a waterboiler situated in the basement, and theoffices and warerooms are lit by elec-tricity. It was several hours before the fire wassubdued. The walls are intact and theroof and flooring are partly preserved, butthe loss to stock and building will be fully$20,000. The insurance was $15,600. The building is four storeys in addition tothe basement, and is 50 feet wide by 114deep, and has been occupied by SandersonPearcy & Co. since September, 18
