Another group of cases frequently leading to a generaldisease may be traced to a septic infection, whether it occurin the puerperium, or as the result of operative measuresor of trauma. Clinically, we are able to differentiate : 1. Catarrh (a) of the cervical mucosa; (&) of the cor-poreal mucosa, usually of a nonbacterial nature. 2. Purulent inflammation (a) of the cervical mucosa;(6) of the corporeal mucosa, almost without exception ofa bacterial nature. From an anatomic standpoint
