Recruits of Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, participate in the Water Survival Basic Qualification at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 4. Fear and lack of confidence caused some of the recruits to become stressed and panicked, although they were able to ask the instructors for guidance. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Delta Company is scheduled to graduate Feb. 2.
