Rear view of the Marco Polo Tower in the old walled city port of Korcula, Croatia.

The rear view of the Marco Polo Tower on the island of Korcula in the eponymous capital city. Alleged to be the birthplace of the 13 Century Croatian explorer, it houses a small museum. Like the rest of the town, it is built of limestone blocks, straddling one of the many narrow streets, and is topped by red clay shingles.
