Blue sky portrait 44 Zlota Street skyscraper through arch to 30th Floor Observation Deck, Palace of Culture and Science, Warsaw

The Palace of Culture and Science (Palac Kultury i Nauki, abbreviated PKiN), including a 43 m high spire, is the tallest building in Poland and, at 231 m (758 ft), the eighth tallest building in the EU. Built 1952-1955, it was conceived as 'gift from the Soviet people to the Polish nation'. It is a mix of Stalinist architecture, Polish architectural elements and inspirations from American art deco skyscrapers. The Observation Terrace on the 30th floor, at a height of 114 m, gives excellent panoramic views of the city, here looking south-west, through an observation deck archway, towards 44 Zlota Street, a 192 m high, 52 storeys residential skyscraper, designed by Polish-born, American architect, Daniel Libeskind. With 287 apartments, it is the third tallest building in Poland.
