Its name was bor- rowed from the crack Scottish railway train and its large, well formed double flowers are pro- duced in abundance on plants from 24 to 30 inches in height. The color is a charming combi- nation of mahogany and gold in symmetrical stripes which ra- diate from the center of the flower. Pkt., 10c. LADY SLIPPERâSee Bal- sam. LAGENARIAâSee Gourds. LANTANA A Brazilian shrub producing clusters of Verbena-like flowers, with all the shades of crimson, rose, yellow and orange. Used mainly in beds. Plant February through April in a sunny location; blooms June until October. Height 24 to 36 inches. Hybrida Mixed, pkt., Royal Scot Marigold LARKSPUR This is the annual Delphinium with soft, green, feathery foliage and long floral spikes of double blossoms. Used in beds it is planted in March through May in a sunny location and blooms all summer. Height 26 to 48 inches. Varieties: Los Angeles, brilliant rose on salmon, pkt., 10c. Dark Blue or Purple, pkt., 10c. Violet, pkt., 10c. Ageratum Blue, pkt., 10c. Pink, Tall Hyacinth Flowered, pkt., 10c. Finest Mixed, tall double stock, pkt., 10c. LOBELIAâInvaluable for edging and for use in the rock garden because of their compact foliage and dainty blue flowers, somewhat like tiny butterflies.
