18/11/21 Armed only with leaf grabbers and rakes , Birmingham City Council workers clear leaves from the 55 acre Aston Park in central Birmingham and pile them into a small trailer. One of the workers stands on an impossibly high mound of leaves, stamping them down with his feet. Many leaves fall from the gravity defying heap as colleagues add to the pile. "It's the head gardener, he's been doing it like that since 1978. We do lose a few on the way to where we tip them. "It takes us from the start of November until March. We don't use any blowers or machines, just landscape rakes" explained one of the workmen. All Rights Reserved: F Stop Press Ltd. +44 (0)7765 242650
