The stub wings on the undercarriages of the Lysanders in these pictures are filled with racks to carry small bombs or food, water or ammunition containers. With a top speed of 230 mph and a range of 600 miles, the Lysander is used largely for artillery spotting for which it is ideal having a wide range of speeds ranging from about 55mph.
