On the north of this court, though notapproached directly from it, was the Seraglio (not to beconfounded with the Harem), the grand entrance to whichwas from a second large court, access to which was obtainedfrom a roadway sloping up from the city. The portalsto this portion of the palace were also adorned withhuman-headed bulls. The remains of an observatory exist,and the oudines of what is supposed to have been atemple have also been unearthed, so that we have here acomplete plan of the palace. Altogether 31 courts and198 chambers have been discovered.
