Red-crowned Parrot Amazona viridigenalis Pharr Texas United States 28 March Adult Psittacidae

Also known as Green-cheeked Amazon, or Mexican Red-headed Parrot, this is an endangered parrot native to northeastern Mexico. The wild population of between 1,000 and 2,000 is dwindling due to the illegal export of trapped birds from Mexico to the United States and the destruction of habitat.
