Floating solar farm being connected on Godley Reservoir, Hyde, Manchester, UK. As of 2016 this is the largest floating solar farm in Europe and the second largest in the world. The scheme is a 3 MegaWatt system, comprising 10,000 photo voltaic panels. It will cut United Utilities electricity bill at the water treatment plant on site, by around 7,000 GBP a month and provide around 33 per cent of the water treatment plant's energy needs.
