Low alitude aerial of the Great Anabranch of the Darling. Once the course of the lower Darling River beore a new the river cut a new course around 10,000 years ago. It is not a true anabranch as that requires the river to flow back into itself. In this case the anabranch came from the darling and flowed into the Murray. This image is of the lower end of the anabranch, and the water from is backed up from the Murray River.
