Blood samples are stored in a hospital refrigerator.

Blood samples are stored in a hospital refrigerator, during the procedure of investigation. The blood is tested to determine blood type A, B, O, the Rhesus-D-factor and, upon indication, the possible presence of potentially harmful antibodies to the patient blood type. The test also looks for the presence of the following infectious diseases: HIV (AIDS), Hepatitis B and C (jaundice), HTLV (leukaemia virus) and Syphilis (sexually transmitted disease).
