Tile Panel mid-16th century This panel is composed of seven hexagonal tiles. A floral design has been painted in cobalt and turquoise blue on a white ground. Each tile has a six-pointed floral medallion at its center, from which a network of small saz leaves, lotus blossoms, and split-palmette (rumi) leaves emanates. Hence, an endlessly repeating pattern is created, which flows from one tile to the Tile Panel. mid-16th century. Stonepaste, polychrome painted under transparent colorless glaze. Attributed to Syria.
