The word gastrodiaphany (transiucency of thestomach) should in this way immediately indicate that themethod enables one to judge about the contours, size, andposition of the stomach ; further also to determine whetherthe anterior wall of the stomach is not greatly thickened oroccupied by a tumor, as under these circumstances thequality of transiucency of the stomach would be decreasedor entirely extinguished.
