Fungal parasite on mosquito larva. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of spores (green-white) from the Beauveria bassiana fungus on the body of a mosquito (Anopheles sp.) larva. B. bassiana grows naturally in soils throughout the world and acts as a parasite on various arthropod species, causing white muscardine disease and killing the host.
