Subscribers are invited to write the editor of the Heating Department, de- scribing their troubles or asking any questions regarding the heating of green- houses, the piping or boiler-room. But please do not ask us to make a choice of apparatus for you. Each boiler adver- tised in The Review is a good boiler, and the advertisers sell them on their merits. BOILEK AND STACK. I wish to build two greenhouses 21 x 160 feet, five feet to the gutter and twelve feet to the ridge, which should average about 60 degrees in the climate of Ohio. Will some one kindly tell me what size boiler will be necessary, using steam heat, and how high the stack should be? J. & R- Any boiler rated at 5,000 feet would be all right. It will take about 4,000 running feet of 1^4-inch pipe, but I would get a boiler rated at 5,000 feet. A stack two feet in diameter and forty feet high will serve. F. R. YOKma BOILEES. Wc have two fire-box boilers, which will be bricked in, and we wish to con- nect them and run them together as a battery. We want to arrange them so we can run either one independently. How can we make proper connections? In connecting two boilers to one smoke- stack, which is the better way—to run two separate smoke pipes to the stack or connect the two pipes with a Y and enter the stack with one pipe? W. & K.
