Rough farm track and footpath lined with hazel trees and running with water after heavy rain. The track leads along the valley of the Afon Mwyro from Strata Florida over the hills of the Cambrian Mountains to Cerrigcwplau at the south end of the Claerwen Reservoir and on to the Elan Valley. Considered to be the southern winter route of the 'Monk's Trod' linking the Medieval Abbeys of Strata Florida and Abbey Cwnhir. It was also used as a Drover's road.
