Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Island in the Aegean Sea of Greece. Sometimes it is called The Island of the Knights because the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem conquered the island in 1309 and ruled it until 1522. In this time they built magnificent buildings. Rhodos ist die Hauptinsel des Dodekanis in der Ägäis. Die Insel wurde 1309 von den Kreuzrittern erobert. Diese errichteten eine Reihe beeindruckender Gebäude bevor sie 1522 die Insel wieder verlassen mussten. Heute ist Rhodos einer der großen touristischen Zentren Griechenlands.
