The Koga multi-purpose park won "international UNESCO Melina Mercouri Prize"about culture scene protection and the management for the first time in are the old Tobitas house which was appointed in 1968 to the important cultural property of Japan, the old Nakayamas house which was appointed to the tangible cultural property of Ibaraki prefecture in the park. It is said that the old Nakayamas house was built in the 17th century.
