FORT IRWIN, Calif. — A Soldier from Easy Troop, 2nd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment surveys the battlefield with a M240B machine gun Feb. 18, 2017, as dismounted forces from Fort Hood’s 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division begin to clear the small town of Nabran in the National Training Center. The 2/1 ABCT’s assault marked the first engagement of NTC’s Rotation 17-04, and served as a training exercise to test their experience in close quarter combat and capturing urban objectives.
