Part of the tent city erected by 43rd Airlift Wing personnel as seen from across the taxiway at Camp Mackall Army Air Field (AAF), North Carolina. Camp Mackall is located south of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, 52 miles from Pope Air Force Base. The Field was one of the primary bases used for training the airborne and glider forces used in such operations as the D-Day Invasion in Europe in 1944.
