In weav-ing it, the warps are divided into three systems, A, B and C—theA system including warps 1, 4, 7, etc.; the B system warps 2, 5, 8,etc.; the C system warps 3, 6, 9, etc. For the first passage of theshuttle to the left, the A warps are depressed and the B and C warpselevated, so that the weft covers the A warps but is covered by theB and C warps.
