MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Nov. 15, 2014) – Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Alan Farthing, from Grove City, Ohio, gives instructions to line handlers as he monitors a ridged-hull inflatable boat’s swing inboard during a boat recovery operation aboard USS Cole (DDG 67). Cole, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer homeported in Norfolk, is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
