Mosque minaret during the night
Husein-pasina dzamija is located in town Pljevlja, northern Montenegro. It was built as part of Hakuin-pasha Boljanic vakuf. Construction began around 1570. The minaret of this mosque is the largest in the Balkans, 42 meters high, and on its floor is still the original carpet from 1573, made to measure of this building in Misir, and weighing about 400 kilograms. The Koran manuscript in the mosque is one of the most beautiful works of Islamic calligraphy of the sixteenth century.
