Bordoli & Bros., Box 513, Sonora, operate a small quarry besidethe road about a mile north of Sonora. The pure white marble is crushedin a rockbreaker to about one-inch size and is shipped for use in View of Marble Quarry of Columbia Marble Company,Tuolumne County. Cohmhhia Marble Company. The prin-cipal product is white with blue veining, although other shades, includ-ing a beautiful buff stone with reddish veining, called Portola marble,have been quarried. The new pit was opened in 1921 and its situationon the steep slope permits eas}^ drainage and disposal of waste. The
