The Session, on the contrary, maintainedthat, inasmuch as the church was for the use of Godin worship, and they had oversight of the spiritual in-terests of the church, this prerogative was theirs. Aftermuch friendly discussion the Session won the day. had made a special study of church polity, andin his Annapolis charge, had been, under the con-stitution of that church, President of the Board ofTrustees as well as Moderator of the Session.
