At the Battle of Quatre-Bras on 16 June 1815, a squadron of 7th Hussars charged the enemy several times until the squadron of 120 officers and men was reduced to 19. On 18 June, the 7th were on the right of the allied line, north of Hougoumont. They charged more than twelve times loosing 2 Officers killed, and 11 wounded 62 other ranks killed and 109 wounded. Lord Uxbridge lost his leg to enemy artillery. The descendants of the 7th Hussars are the Queens Royal Hussars, the senior Light Cavalry Regiment of the British Army . They are equipped with the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank and the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance Tracked.
