Memorial to Martyred Mexican Priests

San Luis, Colorado - A memorial to Mexican priests who were martyred during the Christero rebellion in Mexico in the late 1920s. The memorial depicts a wall used by a firing squad, with busts of the martyrs on the hillside above. The rebellion was an uprising against the anti-clerical provisions of the Mexican constitution of 1917. The Catholic church has declared the martyred priests to be saints.
