A halo style aura around the sun.
The halo around the sun appeared during an open air celebration of mass at Fatima, Portugal, on 13 May 2011 and caused pilgrims to talk about another Miracle of the Sun. The halo was first noticed as a film of the recently beatified late Pope, John Paul II, was shown on a big screen. Between 250,000 and 300,000 Roman Catholic pilgrims had gathered to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. The event takes place on 13 May, the date associated with the first of the Visions of Fatima, which are said to have been witnessed by three local children in 1917.
