AXINIM, Brazil (Feb. 6, 2019) Lt. Cmdr. John Roman administers a numbing agent to a patient during a visit to the Heraclio Emiliano Moda medical clinic in Axinim, Brazil, Feb. 6. The visit marks the first stop of a month-long mission by four Navy physicians and their Brazilian Navy counterparts aboard Brazilian Navy Oswaldo Cruz-class hospital ship NAsH Carlos Chagas (U 19) to exchange medical expertise and to bring medical care to isolated communities along the Amazon River.
