Sections were taken from the following muscles: extensorcommunis digitorum, tibialis anticus, extensor proprius hallucis,from the plantar region, including the interossei, abductor minimidigiti, thenar and hypothenar eminences, extensor primi internodiipollicis, and extensor secundi internodii pollicis. The muscles show considerable alteration. Many of themuscle fibers are atrophied, the sarcolemma nuclei are increasedin number, the transverse striation in some is indistinct, as is alsothe longitudinal striation to some extent, and some fibers have a.
