An important knightly sword, presumably Passau, circa 1300 A broad blade with nearly parallel edges and shallow fullers extending halfway down the blade. An "S" on one side, and a circle with a cross-potent inlaid in brass on the other. Rounded point. Flattened quillons curving toward the point. Flat disk pommel. Length cm. Well preserved with a hairline crack in the blade about 30 cm above the point. The brass marks are made with short, oblong-rectangular chisel strokes done in the style of Passau inlaid marks.
