On December 28, 1873, he united in marriagewith Emily Pelton, who is now the matron ofthe W. C. A. Hospital, Jamestown, N. Y. N. D. Lewis is a member of the Baptistchurch and a prohibitionist in politics. He hasbeen active in the work of his party, whose votematerially increased in Chautauqua countywhile he served as secretary of the County Pro-hibition Committee (1884-88), and in 1885when he was the nominee of his party
