Herewas wood of different kinds in great abundance, fuch aspine, black birch, witch hazle, and poplar. Many of thepines were large enough for lower mafts for a fhip of 400tons burden ; and in every place were plants and fhrubs ofvarious forts growing with great ftrength and vigour.
