Early morning lightning on a cold snowy morning, top of North Parade, Frome, somerset, England

The Doomsday Book reveals that by 1086 Frome was a thriving town with a market and three mills, with the title to the manor held by the King and the forest of Selwood remaining a Royal hunting forest. Frome is the fourth largest town in Somerset. There are more Grade I and II listed buildings surviving in Frome than in any other Somerset Town. Frome holds the annual Frome Festival in July. It lasts for ten days and stages more than 160 events in and around Frome.
