Marine Corps 1st Lt. Bret Bippert, a platoon commander with Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) climbs up the obstacle course during the BLT 1/5 Savage Games held on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan April 22, 2022. BLT 1/5 held the Savage Games in order to build unit cohesion and push the limits of the individuals in their command. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
