A German knightly hand-and-a-half sword, Passau, middle of the 14th century, A heavy, double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section and shallow fullers on both sides of the upper half. A Passau wolf inlaid in brass in the fuller on one side. The opposite side bears inlays of a unicorn and a heart. Quillons of square section, widening at the ends with chamfered edges. Leather-covered grip, with fluted iron ferrules on each end. Heavy, oval disk pommel with a slightly raised hub. Length 124 cm. Extremely rare knightly fighting sword from the famous blade smit,
