Surrounded by steep wooded mountain slopes and on the valley floor with olive groves and farming is the hamlet of Posara near Fivizzano, a small medieval town that is part of a comune in the province of Massa and Carrara in the northern part of Tuscany. The mountainous region is known as the “land of one hundred villages” with its numerous scattered small villages. Fivizzno is situated in the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano National Park, now a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
