White sky dawn sunrise view, Ertbrucke to Alexanderplatz TV Tower, Bode Museum rising Museum Island, River Spree, Berlin

Berlin's Bode Museum, opened in 1904 as the Kaiser Friedrich Museum, was re-named in 1956 after its first curator, Wilhelm von Bode. It was badly damaged during World War 2, being generally restored in the 1990s. It houses Old Master Byzantine and Gothic paintings, sculptures and a vast numismatic collection. In the background rises the 368 m TV Tower at Alexanderplatz, built by the German Democratic Republic 1965-69 and the tallest structure in Germany. An early morning view of the Museum Island, looking east.
