An 'Ochsenkopf Mountain' beaker,Fichtelgebirge,dated 1712 A slightly tapered beaker of greyish glass. Slightly projecting base,hand-finished. Surrounded with fine decorative polychrome painted enamel. A central depiction of the Ochsenkopf Mountain with the animals that live there,and the four rivers which rise there,the "Eger",the "Nab",the "Saal",and the "Mayn". On the reverse a miner(?)with axe and the motto,"Der Fichtelberg bin ich genandt,in obern Francken wol bekandt,vier Wasser aus mir komen,laufen in frembde Landt.
