There are no springsabout it, consequently it has no automatic action, and in un-locking, care must be taken that the locking lever is turnedclear around, as otherwise it will project beyond the meeting-rail and catch on the sash-muntins. This is really the onlyobjection to it. Figure 200 illustrates the internal construc-tion of this sash-fast. Figure 201 is a very similar sash-fast manufactured by P. &F. Corbin. It differs only in the internal, eccentric arrange-ment. The Reading Hardware Company also manufactures asash-fast very much like the Ives. VI. Self-locking sash-fasts.
